Phyllis Jean Chantemerle, Independence Court, Sharon, formerly of Old Hickory Court, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 10:10 p.m. on Friday (12-10-10) at her daughter's residence following an extended illness. She was 85.
She was born on April 10, 1925 in Ellwood City, Pa. the daughter of Robert and Helen Bowers Casedy.
She attended Shenango Schools.
Along with her husband Jack Merle (Chantemerle), they co owned the former Rembrandt Photography Studio in downtown Sharon. She enjoyed golfing, and playing bridge, and she belonged to several card clubs over the years.
A long time resident of Hermitage, she was proud to have served her community and was a former member of the Hermitage School board, and Quota Club International, Hermitage.
Her husband Jack Merle (Chantemerle) whom she married on April 10, 1958, passed away on February 5, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Vadala and her husband Bob, Sharon, her son, William Booher, Polk, a brother Darrel Wimer, St. George, UT, three grandchildren, Gina Vadala, Bob Vadala Jr. and his wife Erica, and Ron Vadala and his wife Becky.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Ken Wimer.
