Philomena Louise Womer (née Fromm), affectionately known as Phyllis, passed away on February 1, 2026, in Round Rock, Texas, at the age of 100. She died peacefully during surgery to repair a broken hip, never awakening from anesthesia.
Born on April 19, 1925, in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, Phyllis lived a long and faithful life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vinton Womer, and all of her siblings: Wilfred, Henrietta, Gilberta, Lucille, Genevieve, and Edward Fromm, with whom she remained close throughout their lives.
She is survived by her devoted son, Keith Allen Womer of Austin, Texas, and his wife Martha; granddaughters Anne Kathryn of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Emma Jane of Austin, Texas; and great-grandson Jesse Beau of Silver Spring, Maryland.
A devout Roman Catholic throughout her life, Phyllis spent most of her adult years in Hubbard, Ohio, where she was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She worked as an accountant and took great pride in being a loving and dedicated mother to her son Keith. She had a keen eye for beauty and enjoyed decorating and maintaining her lovely homes on West Liberty Street and Maple Springs Drive. An avid bowler, she remained active with her beloved bowling team in Hubbard well into her early 90s — a remarkable testament to her vitality and competitive spirit.
After the passing of her husband in 1993, Phyllis lived an independent, active, and engaged life. In her later years, she moved to Round Rock, Texas, to be close to her son and daughter-in-law.
Flowers are welcome, or donations in Phyllis’s memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hubbard, Ohio. She also requested that Masses be offered in her memory. These may be arranged through the Sephardic Mass Association at mymassrequest.org.
