Pheroba "Phera" L. Bowers, 650 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Wheatland, PA, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, in Northside Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio, after an extended illness. She was 74.

Mrs. Bowers was born April 1, 1938 in Connellsville, PA a daughter of the late John L. and Frances Piper Lewis.

She attended Connellsville High School and worked as a cook for many years at various nursing homes and restaurants in the Sharon and Youngstown area, retiring in 1992 from Park Vista Nursing Home, Youngstown.

Surviving are: four daughters, Diana Lynn Stupka and her husband Michael, Austintown, Ohio; Linda Leigh Zanolli and her husband Steve, Masury, Ohio; Tina Louise Bowers, Girard, Ohio; and Penny Ann Bowers, Sharon; six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Thomas Lewis and his wife Evelyn, Swansboro, North Carolina.

Besides her parents, Phera was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Jeane Bowers, who died as an infant; six sisters, Joan McPherson, Stella Miller, Annetta Coates, Mercedes McElhaney, Vera Ellen Guard and Sara Jane Moores; and two brothers, Ralph and John Lewis.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
