Obituary

Peter A. Teaberry of 71 Victory Drive, Sharpsville, passed away Wednesday morning (3-16-11) after a brief illness. He was 92.

Mr. Teaberry was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Sharpsville, a son of Frank and Rosina Mastrojarina Teaberry.

A lifelong resident of Sharpsville, he graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1936 and was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville.

A decorated veteran, Pete served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II with the 1326th Army Air Force Base Unit Transport Command. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 162, Sharpsville.

Mr. Teaberry retired in 1981 from the former Wean United, Youngstown, where he worked for 26 years as a welder.

Pete loved walking. Following his retirement, he walked for two to three hours daily for more than 25 years in Buhl Park. He also enjoyed gardening.

His wife of 59 years, the former Caroline J. Travaglini, whom he married Oct. 13, 1951, in St. Michael's Church, Greenville, survives at home.

Also surviving are two sons, Marc Teaberry and his wife Sandi; and Paul Teaberry, all Howland Township, Trumbull County; two brothers, Lawrence Teaberry and his wife Celeste, Canfield, Ohio; and Dominick Teaberry and his wife Jean, Hermitage; and three granddaughters, Brenna, Kayla and Kelsie Teaberry.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Paula Teaberry; and a sister, Mary Mastrian.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Bartholomew Church Elevator Fund, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150.

Service: Funeral services at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Matthew Kujawski, pastor of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, officiating.

Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors rendered by the Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex, and American Legion Post 432, Wheatland.
