Peter H. Camp, Jr. of Mercer, formerly of Hermitage, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 57.
Mr. Camp was born December 12, 1958, in Sharon, a son of Peter H. Camp Sr. and Helen (Gelesky) Camp.
He was a 1976 graduate of Hickory High School. Following high school he was employed by Sharon Tube and was a union steward for 13 years. Most recently, Pete was a carpenter with Local # 268, Carpenters Union.
He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians.
Pete enjoyed doing woodcrafts with his grandson Drue, fishing, and going to his camp at Pymatuning Lake, in Andover, OH.
Surviving are: his wife, the former, Carol Kennell, whom he married on July 22, 2006; his son, Nickolas P. Burdick, Portland, OR; two step-daughters, Ian Diane Kennell, Hermitage; and Carly Carter and her husband Justin, Huntington, WV; a sister, Evelyn Farr and her husband Joe, Creighton, MO; two brothers, Brian and Rodney Camp, both of Sharon; and a grandson, Drue.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 16205.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St., Sharon, PA.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the funeral home, with Pastor Bruce Rosa, assistant pastor of First Baptist Church of Sharpsville, officiating.
Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
