Peter Emil Barber, Jr., formerly of Farrell, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, (7/25/2015) in Clepper Manor, Sharon following a brief illness. He was 92. Mr. Barber was born April 8, 1923 in Farrell and was a graduate of Farrell High School. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and was a proud survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work in his father's store, Barber's Market, located on the corner of Beechwood Ave. and Negley St., Farrell. He owned and operated the store for more than 20 years before its closing in 1975. Pete was a self taught artist. He enjoyed sketching, painting and photography. After his retirement from the grocery business he started his own business of commercial sign lettering which he did for 15 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. He is survived by one sister, Henrietta Gianoglio; two nieces, one nephew, two grand nephews and a great grand niece. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Marie A.
