Pete Sanitate, 63 Emerson Ave., Wheatland, PA went to be with the Lord at 12:13 p.m. Sunday (9-20-09) unexpectedly in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System surrounded by his loving family. He was 79.
Mr. Sanitate was born August 1, 1930 in Farrell, PA a son of the late Antonio and Marietta DiMichael Sanitate.
He retired as a foreman in January of 1992 from the Wheatland Tube Co. were he was employed for 43 years.
Pete was an active lifelong member of First Assembly of God, Hermitage, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, board member, treasurer and elder. Pete loved spending time with his family, particularly his children, great grandchildren and great grandchildren. He looked forward to going to the Pulaski flea market and the Four Seasons flea market in Liberty, Ohio with his brothers each week. He will be remembered by many as a man of strong faith, a loving heart and having a great sense of humor.
Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Shirley Jean Scott, whom he married August 5, 1950 in the former Farrell Methodist Church; three daughters, Colleen Snyder and her husband Mark, Hermitage; Gayle Lozon and her husband Philip, Holland, MI; and Jean Mikulski and her husband Mark, Hermitage; 5 grandchildren, Cheryl Tremmel and her husband Edward, Hermitage; Laura Blaire and her husband Marshall, Hermitage; Steven Mikulski and his wife Sara, Pulaski; Matthew Mikulski a college student in Pittsburgh, PA, and Aaron Lozon, Holland, MI; five great grandchildren, Alaina, Olivia and Kali Tremmel; and Cailen and Evan Blaire; 3 sisters, Mary Gerba, Brookfield, Ohio; Loretta Longiotti and her husband Cor, Ashland, Oregon; and Vardina McKeown, Wheaton, MD; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Pete was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Sanitate, Michael Sanitate, Paul Sanitate, James Sanitate, and Matthew Sanitate; a sister who died in infancy; and his father and mother-in-law, William and Charlotte Irene Scott.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Assembly of God Building Fund, 1455 N. Keel Ridge Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday (9-24-09) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon; and one hour before the service Friday (9-25-09) in the First Assembly of God Church, Hermitage.

Internment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
