Pearl Ann Kocholek of Hermitage passed away at
9:45 p.m.
Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, after an extended illness. She was 68.
Mrs. Kocholek was born February 24, 1948, in Sharon. She was a 1967 graduate of Farrell High School and a lifelong area resident.
Pearl retired in 2007 from J.C. Penney, Co. in the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, where she was employed for seventeen years.
A homemaker, she was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon.
Pearl enjoyed flower gardening, shopping and spending time with her family and served as a Girl Scout troop leader when her daughter was involved in scouting.
Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Charles C. Kocholek, whom she married October 28, 1967; a daughter, Christine G. Germadnik and her husband Bill, Brookfield; a son, Charles Dennis Kocholek and his wife Lori, Hermitage; three grandchildren, Jacob and Grace Kocholek; and Jared Germadnik; two sisters, Sherry Bowser and her husband Jim, Transfer; and Connie Seeley and her husband Mike, Akron, OH; four brothers, George Halt and his wife Linda, Transfer; Robert Halt and his wife Sarah, Gulf Shores, AL; Terry Halt and his wife Judy, Kinsman, OH; and Michael Halt and his wife Jen, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Novak; her step-father, George Halt, Sr; an infant brother, Richard David Halt; and a granddaughter, Julia Christine Germadnik.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 , in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, in St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon, with Rev. Adam Trambley, rector, officiating.
Interment: Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.
