Pauline (Skubich) Chestnut, of Sharon, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Quality Life Services, Mercer, PA.

Mrs. Chestnut was born in Farrell, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Hrynewich) Skubich and attended schools in Farrell.

A homemaker, she worked early in her life as a clerk for seven years in the Engineering Department of the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Pauline was a member of the former St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell. Following the closure of St. Adalbert's, she attended Mass at St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville.

She volunteered at Sharon Regional Medical Center and UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. Additionally, she was involved in the Patagonia Girl Scouts, when her children were young.

Her husband, Casimir J. Chestnut, whom she married on September 10, 1949, passed away on January 1, 2000.

She is survived by a son, Casimir P. Chestnut and his significant other, Lynette Young, of Rolla, MO; two daughters, Mary Kay Chestnut and her significant other, Ralph Sinopoli, of Sharpsville, and Noreen Arleth and her husband, Fred, of Plantersville, TX; four grandchildren, Paul Chestnut, Laura Vogelsand, Dustin Arleth, and Sam Arleth; three great-grandchildren, twins Maggie and Griffen Vogelsang, and Iris Arleth; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by six sisters, Mary Bain, Ann Caiola, Helen Lokker, Catherine Ruffo, Dorothy Axe and Margaret Paczak.

Calling hour will be noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday (07/08/2025) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, in the funeral home.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
