Paul J. Waggoner, 64, of Transfer, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Youngstown, OH.
Paul was born on February 1, 1961, in Macon, GA, a son of the late Paul G. and Vivian (Hancock) Waggoner.
He was employed for over 20 years as a service technician for ABARTA Coca-Cola in Erie, PA.
Paul was a member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church, Hermitage.
An avid hunter, he also enjoyed music, movies and cinema, especially cult classics. As a Georgia boy, on Saturdays, he looked forward to watching and rooting for his Bulldog football team.
Paul was a kind man who liked to tinker and was always willing to lend a hand and help someone in need. Above all, he deeply loved his family and cherished time spent with grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as "Papa Chocolate."
He is survived by two sons, Hans Waggoner and his significant other, Michelle Miller, of Hermitage, and Dane Waggoner, of Elyria, OH; two grandchildren, Harlow and Waylon; and one more grandchild on the way. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Dawn Waggoner, of Elyria; and a sister, Gail Fryer and her husband, Ben, of Macon, GA.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Holy Cross Orthodox Church, 950 Maple Drive, Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday (04/24/2025) in Holy Cross Orthodox Church, Hermitage.
Funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the church, with Rev. Fr. Spyridon Ickes, officiating.
Interment: St. John's Orthodox Cemetery, Hermitage.
