Obituary

Paul H. Gensko of Farrell passed away peacefully at 7:20 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, after a courageous battle with on-going heart problems. He was 72.

Mr. Gensko was born January 2, 1944, in Sharon, a son of Paul G. and Lillian Morris Gensko. A lifelong area resident, he attended West Middlesex High School before entering the U.S. Navy in 1961. Upon his return home he worked several small jobs before becoming a member of Iron Workers Local #207. He worked as a Journeyman with Local #207 for nearly 30 years before a work accident forced him to retire in 1992.

Mr. Gensko was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon.

He enjoyed traveling the area playing pool and attending outdoor picnics in the summer months.

In the years following retirement, Paul fully embraced his role as a grandfather and was always eager to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking them out to dinners, having sleepovers and always bestowing personalized gifts upon each of them. His grandchildren will remember his frank demeanor, the many stories he shared of his treasured memories and the example he set as a courageous fighter and caregiver to his family.

Surviving are: his wife of 49 years, the former Barbara Krlin, who he married February 10, 1967; three daughters, Renee Aszalos, Sharon; Melissa Vallely, Sharon; and Tracey Stevenson, Austintown, OH; a brother, John F. Gensko, Mercer; and six grandchildren, Bryce and Sam Vallely, Zachary, Nate, Gabby and Maddy Aszalos.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by an infant sister, Debbie Gensko; and a brother, Gary Eves.
