Patrick M. Murphy, 63, of Sharon, passed away at 2:24 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family.

Pat was born September 23, 1954, in Sharon, a son of John and Mary Phyllis (States) Murphy. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1972 graduate of Hickory High School. Pat was employed at the former Golden Dawn Foods, downtown Sharon, and later Peter J. Schmitt Co. He retired in 2016 as a dock worker from Dean Dairy Products, S. Pymatuning Twp.

Pat was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Sharon; and the Teamsters local #261, New Castle.

Pat was a professional Santa Claus and made annual visits to Whispering Oaks, Sons of Italy, the Shenango Valley Senior Community Center and many private parties throughout the years.

He was an avid fisherman and a fan of NASCAR and football. He enjoyed BBQ's at his daughter and son-in-law's house, yardwork and gardening, especially potatoes.

Pat is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Krlin, whom he married September 18, 1976 in St. Anthony's Church. He is also survived by a daughter, Patricia Nagel and her husband Daniel, Sharon; a sister, Colleen Swartz and her fiance' Blair Sweet, Pulaski, PA; a brother, John Murphy and his wife Mary Ann, Farrell; a grandpuppy, Clark Grizzwald; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Gensko, Farrell; and Carol Chomor, Sharon; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, who were all very special to him.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judith Bewley; father and mother-in-law, John and Amelia Krlin; and a brother-in-law, Paul Gensko.

Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday (06/28/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday (06/29/2018) in St. Anthony's Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.
