Obituary

Patrick R. Gadola, 2039 Rettig Drive, Hermitage, Pa., passed away peacefully at 9:25 p.m. on Saturday (12-19-09) at his residence of natural causes. He was 79.

Pat was born in Sharon on March 25, 1930 the son of Pasquale and Frances Nucissa Gadola.

A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Sharon High School in 1948.

He was employed at the former Sharon Westinghouse as an Engineering Rep. and retired in 1984 with 36 1/2 years of service. After his work at Westinghouse, he gained employment with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board as a Clerk where he worked from 1987 until 1993.

He was a former member of the International Union of Electrical Workers # 617, and the Sharon Westinghouse Employees Association.

Mr. Gadola was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart Church, Sharon.

A decorated veteran, he served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1952.

His wife the former Aline Link whom he married on October 21, 1967, survives at home.

He also leaves his two sons, Patrick S. Gadola, Hermitage, and Paul V. Gadola and his wife Shelley of Damascus, VA.,one sister, Verna Gadola, Sharpsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Guy, Phillip, Francis'Chic', and Chester Gadola, his two sisters, Mary Gadola, Josephine Gadola.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Family Hospice and Palliative Care 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway Hermitage, Pa. 16148., or to Buhl Farm Trust and sent to Buhl Park Corporation 730 Forker Blvd. Hermitage, PA 16148, or to Sacred Heart Church, 40 S. Irvine Ave. Sharon Pa. 15146.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (12-22-09) and from 9;00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday prior to leaving for the church in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (12-23-09) at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Sacred Heart, 40 S. Irvine Ave., with Rev. Henry C. Andrae, pastor, as celebrant.

. Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors provided by the honor guard from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex, and the American Legion post 432, Wheatland.
