Patrick C. Benincase, 72, of Riverside Apartments passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at his residence.

Pat was born in New Castle on July 1, 1942, to the late Domenico and Antoinette Passifuime Benincase.

He graduated from New Castle High School in 1960.

He entered the Navy on July 7, 1962, and was honorably discharged on Jan. 27, 1967.

He then attended the Erie Business Center and graduated with an associate's degree in business accounting.

Patrick retired from the former Youth Development Center as a house parent.

Pat enjoyed going to the casinos and calling bingo at Riverside, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Angela Wright and her husband, John, of Cambridge Springs, Pa., and Lena Benincase of Uniontown; a sister, Rosemary Plaufcan of New Castle; two brothers, David Benincase of Hillsville and Mark Benincase of Ellwood City; and his two grandchildren, Hannah and Wesley Wright. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Pagliese Benincase; and his brother, Thomas Benincase.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St. Military honors will be conducted by the New Castle Area Honor Guard at the conclusion of calling hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish St. Mary Church, with the Rev. Frank Almade serving as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
