Patricia "Patty" A. Rogers of Sharpsville, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, in the intensive care unit of Sharon Regional Health System, after a brief illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Rogers was born March 17, 1936, in Cecil (Washington Co.), PA, a daughter of Michael and Erma VanHorenbeck Biringer.
She was a graduate of Cecil High School and was formerly employed by the Pittsburgh School District and the former Vernon Industrial Supply, Mercer.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
Earlier in her life, Patty was a Girls Scout Troop Leader and enjoyed dancing, traveling and gaming resorts.
Her first husband, Charles Nolan, whom she married July 14, 1956, passed away May 13, 1976. Surviving are: her second husband, Bertram C. Rogers, whom she married December 14, 1996; a daughter Cynthia Janicki and her husband Joseph, Wexford; three sons, Michael Nolan and his wife Alicia, Irvine, CA; John Nolan and his wife Linda, Mercer; and Patrick Nolan and his wife Kelly, Robinson Twp., PA; three sisters, Dorothy Cheeseman and her husband Carl, Cocoa Beach, FL; Diana Mosur and her husband Steve, Moon Twp.; and Ann Marie Thompson and her husband Jeff, Bull Head City, AZ; a brother, John Biringer, Youngstown, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Emil, Kaelin, Carley and Cristina Nolan; and Jeremy Janicki; two great-grandson, Ryan and Kaden; a brother-in-law, Howard Rogers and his wife Rebecca, Sharpsville; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Roscoe, Hermitage.
Besides her first husband, Patty was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Charles Donald and Richard Biringer; and a brother-in-law, William Roscoe.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.
Calling hours: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 , in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State Street, Sharon.
Services: Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
