Obituary

Patricia Marie "Pat" Miller of Hermitage passed away peacefully at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in the Good Samaritan Hospice facility, Wexford, Pa. She was 91.

Mrs. Miller was born January 3, 1927, in Sharon, a daughter of William J. and Gertrude (Schumacher) Buckley. She was a lifelong area resident and 1945 graduate of Sharon High School.

Family was always her top priority, and she cherished the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren.

Her husband, Frederick L. Miller, whom she married October 20, 1951, passed away July 26, 2004.

Surviving are: a daughter, Marjorie J. (Charles) Wunder, Brevard, NC; four sons, Frederick W. (Marina) Miller, Mars, PA, Daniel C. (Leann) Miller, Canonsburg, PA, Richard J. (Janet) Miller, St. Louis, MO, and Scott A. (Deborah) Miller, Austintown, OH; two sister-in-laws,  Ruth Buckley, Sharon and Betty Miller Hermitage; 15 grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Wunder and Elizabeth (Tyler) Copeland; Maryn, Rory and Mallory Miller; Kristina (Jarrid) Danburg, Andrew (Meghan) Miller and Emily (Evan) Dudley; Rachel (Daniel) Amiri, Ryan (Brittany) Miller, Nathan, Bradley and Jeremy Miller; and Megan and Abigail Miller; and 9 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by all her nieces and nephews; her great neighbors, Vince and Nancy Collins; and her caregiver, Amy Hoovler.

In addition to her husband, Pat was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William J. (Helen), Theodore and John Buckley; and two sisters, Margaret (Joe) Combine and Eileen (Wilfred) Fromm.

Pat retired in 1991 as an office manager from the Sears Co., Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, where she worked for 23 years. Previously, she worked as a secretary for 11 years at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant.

Pat was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered preparing and serving funeral luncheons.

She was a member of the Sears Retirees Club and the Shenango Valley Dance Club, both Hermitage.

Pat was an avid and accomplished card player, taking great pleasure in winning games of Euchre, Pinochle and Gin. Pat also played Mah Jongg at the Senior Citizen's Center, Hermitage.

She enjoyed crafts, particularly knitting, and at one time was a knitting instructor.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd, Hermitage, PA 16148 ; or Good Samaritan Hospice, 146 Neely School Rd, Wexford, PA 15084 .

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday (2-11-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon ; and 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Monday (2-11-18) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage . Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday (2-12-18) in the Church of Notre Dame, with the Very Rev. Richard J. Allen, pastor, as celebrant.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage.
