Patricia E. "Patty" Kineston of Sharon passed away at 6:28 a.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after an extended illness. She was 67. Patty was born February 18, 1948, in Sharon, a daughter of Philip and Edna Mae (Strauss) Schmidt. She attended Sharon schools and was employed, years ago, at the former American Laundry in downtown Sharon. Patty was a homemaker and a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity Church, Sharon. She was also a member of the VFW, Post 1338 Ladies Auxiliary, Sharon. A very caring and giving individual, Patty was extremely dedicated to her family. She enjoyed going to the family camp in Cook Forest as well as all of the family gatherings. She also liked to play bingo. Surviving are: her husband, John Kineston, at home; two sons, John G. Kineston, Fredonia; and Brian A. Kineston, at home; a sister, Karen A. Kiester, Sharon; a brother, Philip "Skeeter" Schmidt, Cochranton, PA; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandra Ann Schmidt. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, September 10, 2015, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Campbell, pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity Church, Sharon, officiating. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
