Patricia Jean Flynn, 88, of Shenango Township and formerly of Union Township, passed away on Saturday morning November 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born October 6, 1928, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Gaylon and Kathryn Welsh Wheaton.
She was a graduate of Union High School.
Patricia married John J. Flynn on May 18, 1957 and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2008.
She retired from the Baltimore & Ohio New Castle Credit Union as a clerk after fifteen years of service.
Patricia was a lifelong member of St. Marys Church, Mary, Mother of Hope Parish.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Patricias greatest love was for her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed hosting holidays and gatherings in her home, and making Christmas cookies for everyone. Her second love was making people happy with her numerous cross stitch projects and crafts that she gifted to them.
Patricia is survived by: three daughters, Terri Flynn and Diane (Pat) Ostrowski, all of New Castle; Peggy (Pat) Sullivan of Pittsburgh; and a son, Joe Flynn of Cranberry. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Brian, Brett, and Lea Sullivan, Kelly Ostrowski, Katie and Kara Flynn.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Wheaton; and a brother, Robert Wheaton.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday (11-7-16) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday (11-8-16) for St. Marys Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Joseph Codori.
Intermit will be in St. Marys Cemetery.
