Mrs. Carnes was born on January 3, 1932, in Sharon, a daughter of the late John and Mayme (Ciminero) DeCapua. A lifelong area resident, she was a 1949 graduate of Sharon High School. She graduated from Comptometer School and become a keypunch operator at the former Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Pat later worked as a retail clerk for the former Whitmer Smith in downtown Sharon. However, Pat's favorite job was working as a bus driver for Sharon Schools transporting disabled children and driving for academic and sporting events.

She was a charter member of the Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage, and an active volunteer for many years at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell.

Pat enjoyed her neighborhood ladies' card club. She and her husband Paul liked spending their winters in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the United States. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and attending all of her grandchildren's academic and sporting events. She was always there for her family and will be greatly missed.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Weikal (Jim), Transfer; her son, Kevin Carnes (Liz), Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren, Zachary Weikal, Shane Weikal (Alicia), Adam Weikal (Stacy), Alexandra Carnes, Brockton Carnes; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carnes, who passed away December 5, 2019;  one brother, Sonny DeCapua; and four sisters, Gloria Rivetti, Norma Reardon, Gerrie Derr, and Mary Lou Ceremuga.

Calling hours will be held privately.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday (1-28-23) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd, Hermitage, PA 16148, with Very Rev. Richard J. Allen, pastor as celebrant.

Entombment: St. Rose Mausoleum, Hermitage.
