Pasquale P. "Pat" Pacifico, Sr. Sharon, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly at 11:37 a.m. Wednesday (3-30-31) in the Emergency Room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 87.
He was born May 11, 1928 in Sharon the son of Dan and Mary Elizabeth Valentino Pacifico.
A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of Sharon High School.
Pat was a member and representative of the United Steelworkers of America and worked at Sawhill Tubular Division Armco Inc. for more than 40 years.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville.
He belonged to the Sharpsville River Rats Fishing Club, Sons of Italy Shenango Valley Lodge 875, Veterans of Foreign Wars 75499 Reynolds, Italian Home, Greenville, and the Knights of Columbus, Council 684, Sharon.
Pat loved softball and in his earlier years he enjoyed coaching and playing for St. Bartholomew's in the church league with his son Pat.
During WWII he was an Army Reservist and was called to duty on January 11, 1947 and he reached the rank of Corporal, he was honorably discharged on January 10, 1950.
His wife the former Rose M. Conti Pacifico whom he married on November 18, 1950, passed away on July 11, 1996.
He is survived by his a daughter in law, Paula Pacifico, Sharpsville, two granddaughters, Regina Pacifico, Sharpsville, and Mattia Eckert and her husband Justin, Painesville, Oh, two great grandchildren, Adalynn and Geno Eckert, a brother, Don Pacifico, Reynolds, and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Margaret Weldon, Venza Petricini, Bridget Ser Mitrovitch, and a son Pat P. Pacifico Jr.

Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (3-5-16) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday (3-6-16) at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev Richard Gula, nephew of the deceased, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage
