Pamela Susan Russin, 61, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Pam was born November 28, 1964, in Prince Georges County, MD, a daughter of the late Paul Russin and Margaret (Kennedy) Russin. A 1982 graduate of New Castle High School, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in biology from Gannon University, Erie, in 1987, after spending a year in Helsingborg, Sweden, as a Rotary exchange student. She later pursued her graduate studies in veterinary science at Penn State University.

For many years, Pam worked as a veterinary technician for several animal hospitals.

Pam was of the Russian Byzantine Catholic faith.

She had a lifelong passion for the love and care of animals. Pam also enjoyed traveling, spending time outdoors – especially while kayaking, watching movies, and spending time with her family. Creative by nature, she was a talented crafter and sewer.

Pam is survived by two brothers, Paul “Dub” Russin (Timi), of Ridgefield, WA, and Michael Russin (Danny Baker), of San Francisco, CA; two nephews, Reid and Ty Russin; several beloved cousins; her dog, Dev; and her cat, Elsa.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home, with Deacon John J. Carran, officiating.

Internment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Castle.
