Pamela Vellente Fanone, 76, of Masury, OH, passed away following a brief illness on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Mrs. Fanone was born on February 21, 1948, in Sharon, a daughter of the late James and Bette (Edwards) Vellente. She was a 1966 graduate of Hickory High School and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Slippery Rock University in 1970.

Pam taught French at Farrell High School for 38 years, retiring in 2008. She was creative, fun and caring, which showed in her students' love for her. Many of them still maintained contact with her several years after graduating. Following her retirement, she worked at the former Happy Egg Plant and later at Clune Vitamin Center, both in Hermitage.

Pam was of the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.

She married her husband of 47 years, Donald Fanone, on June 18, 1977. Together they traveled extensively, sharing memorable trips to Europe, the Caribbean, and annually took long trips to Florida.

An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, she looked forward to cheering on the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Marissa Hodgkins and her husband James, Manchester, MA; two grandchildren, Claire and Emma; and a sister-in-law, Michaelene Pollock and her husband Robert, Hermitage.

Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday (09/14/2024) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, officiating.
