Obituary

Palmyra S. Keck, 95, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully with family at her side early Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, in her home.

Mrs. Keck was born October 6, 1930, in Sharon, a daughter of Stephen and Palmyra (Vasconi) Shernisky. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1948.

She worked for Packard Electric in Warren, OH, retiring as an inspector after 31 years of employment.

Palmyra was a member of St. Bartholomew Church in Sharpsville, where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed bowling and was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society. Palmyra was also a talented quilter and active gardener who cherished the time she was able to spend with her family, especially while at their camp in Cook Forest, PA.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Aber, whom she married on June 23, 1951. Palmyra was also preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Keck, whom she married on December 8, 1974.

Palmyra is survived by three daughters, Pamela Voisey (Lynn), Sharpsville, PA, Catherine Darnley (Thaddeus Jurkiewicz), North Jackson, OH, and Patricia Banas, North East, MD; a son, Paul Aber (Kelly Matthews), Lucinda, PA; a stepson, Tim Keck (Diane Spurlock), Kane, PA; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Palmyra was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Summers; a brother, Thomas Shernisky; two sons-in-law, William Darnley and Edward Banas; a daughter-in-law, Mary Margaret Keck; and a grandson, Scott Darnley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday (10-30-25) in St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, with Rev. John Miller, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
