Obituary

Owen R. Stull, Charles Street, Clark, PA passed away peacefully of natural causes Thursday (3-17-16) at Garden Way Place, Hermitage. He was 88.

He was born August 28, 1927 in Sharpsville; one of eight children born to George and Lillian Butler Stull.

A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Hickory High School in 1945 where he was a member of the varsity basketball team.  He played in various independent basketball leagues after high school.

He was employed at Sharon Steel for 38 years retiring as a Foreman in the blooming mill.  After his retirement in 1982, he was the Manager of the Reynolds VFW Post 7599 for 12 years.

His wife, Bessie Campbell Stull whom he married July 12, 1952, passed away on March 27, 1999.

He served his country in the Army during the Korean War being stationed in Germany.

He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Stull was an avid bowler with a 300 game to his credit which was the first one bowled at the Reynolds Bowling Lanes.  He also enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

He loved spending time with his companion of 15 years Irene Baranski, Hubbard, OH.  They enjoyed traveling to casinos and other destinations together.  Mr. Stull also enjoyed the time he spent with her family and his neighbors on Charles Street.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stull was preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth Eakin, Lillian Tomko, Donna Sloan and Wilma Hrisoulas and his three brothers, George, Donald and Wayne.

Calling hours: 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday ( 3-21-16 ) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.

Services: 12:00 p.m. Monday ( 3-21-16 ) in the funeral home chapel with John Hall, Chaplain of Heartland Hospice officiating.

Interment: Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville
