Obituary

Norman Graham Bintrim, 88, of New Castle passed away peacefully with his wife at his side at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, in his residence.

Norm was born November 26, 1928, in New Castle, a son of the late Norman A. and Effie M. Bintrim.

Norm served in the U.S Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War, receiving an Honorable Discharge on May 22, 1952.

He retired as a repairman in 1992 from the former Rockwell International Corp.'s Axel Division, New Castle, where he was employed for 29 years.

Norm was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, New Castle.

He was a former member of the North Beaver Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. An outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending the winters in Venice, Florida, with his wife, Barb. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins and Penn State Football.

His gentle nature and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are: his loving wife of 65 years, the former Barbara A. Daugherty, whom he married May 18, 1951; three daughters, Denise K. Myers and her husband Melvin, of New Castle; Kimberly A. Lytwak and her husband Greg, of Jeannette, PA; and Beth A. Roberts, of New Castle; one son, Scott B. Bintrim and his wife Leane, of Carmel, IN; a sister Betty Bowman, of Orrville, OH; 12 grandchildren, Michael Myers, Kerri Myers and Shelly Myers; Bryan Lytwak, Lauren Lytwak, Lindsey Walters and Victoria Lytwak; Jourdan Bintrim, Hannah Bintrim and Jakob Bintrim; and Ryan Roberts and Kristin Pezzulo; and a great granddaughter, Rylee Roberts. He is also survived by his Springer Spaniel, Molly May, whom he adored.

In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by: a son, Thomas A. Bintrim; a son-in-law, Bruce Roberts; a grandson, William Myers; and a sister, Mary Clausen.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (4-5-17) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls, St., New Castle; and 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday (4-6-17) in Christ Lutheran Church, 1302 E Washington St., New Castle.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday (4-6-17), in Christ Lutheran Church, with Rev. Sean Walters, pastor, officiating.

Military Honors will be rendered at Oak Park Cemetery by the members of the New Castle Area Honor Guard.

Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle.
