Obituary
Norma Carlene Moore, 89, of New Castle, passed away on Thursday February 23, 2017 in Avalon Nursing Center.
Carlene as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was born August 15, 1927 in Mahoningtown to the late Lewis and Elva Merle Godwin.
She was a member of Enon Valley Bible Presbyterian Church.
Carlene enjoyed gardening and sewing in her spare time.
In earlier years she had been employed at Bell Telephone Company.
Carlene was a devoted homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren and she will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Chester P. Moore of New Caste; three sons, Kenneth Moore and his wife Barbara Lawson, Frederick, MD,; Dennis Moore and his wife Janet, Nancy KY, and Terry Moore, New Castle; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carlene was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Godwin.
There are no calling hours planned.
A service followed by committal prayers will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Castle View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. David Hammond, officiating.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St.
