Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the death of our beautiful, loving mother, Norma Marie Kaikis. After a beautifully lived life, our precious mom went to heaven and into the loving arms of her Savior, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 9:18 AM, in Cranberry Twp, PA, in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, at the amazing age of 95.

Norma was born on September 30, 1928.  She was very proud that she grew up in a loving Italian household on Emerson Avenue in Farrell, with her mom and dad, and three siblings.

Mom graduated from Farrell High School, which was where she met the absolute love of her life, our dad, James Kaikis.  They were married on January 17, 1948, and were blessed with five children, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren with another one on the way, and had sixty wonderful years together. Our parents' love for one another was like a real love story. They were not just husband and wife they were best friends. They said I love you and cherished one another every single day of their lives. The impact that growing up witnessing this love had on all of us is immeasurable. We know that our dad was right behind the Lord with his arms open wide too, waiting to hold his Norma again.  We have tremendous peace knowing that these two love birds are rejoicing together again in heaven.

Our mom was such a fantastic woman of grace and dignity.  She had the incredible ability to be soft and strong at the same time. She was a compassionate, kind and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was a devoted daughter and took wonderful care of her own mother, who lived with her until her death.  She was a compassionate friend, always willing to help.  She was a terrific cook and homemaker. She was silly and funny and loved to laugh.  She was beautiful and elegant, and had great style. "She made the clothes they didn't make her."

She was the most loving Nani to her grandchildren.  She loved and adored every one of them and they loved and adored her.  She was all of these things and so much more, but her strongest gift was being our mother. There are not enough words in the world to say how much she means to us.  Our mom filled our home with joy and love.  She inspired us, was our biggest supporter, our most fierce protector, our calm in the storm, our voice when we needed one, our best friend, our teacher, our doctor, our everything.  She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her, offering us her support, wisdom, and deeply abundant love. She truly was beautiful inside and out.  Mom was the heart and soul of our home and family. To say she was a fantastic mom would be an understatement.  She devoted her life to us and didn't just love us, she adored and cherished us with a deep love that will never ever leave us. There is nothing that she wouldn't do for her children or family. We love our mom more than words can express, and we hope to make her as proud of us, as we always were of her.  We will miss everything about her, except her love, because her love for us was so big that not even death can separate us from it.  We will still feel it every day and we will see her live on in us, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We are so thankful and blessed to have been chosen by God to have Norma Kaikis as our loving, precious mother. We love you so much mom.  You are the best mom in the world!
