Obituary

Norma (Willaman) Flickinger, 95, of Hermitage, passed away Friday afternoon, April 12, 2019, in her home.


Mrs. Flickinger was born August 28, 1923, in Greenville, to the late John and Lena (Metyler) Willaman. Her father passed in 1924 and Norma was raised by her mother and step-father, Paul Hays. At a young age she moved to Fredonia from the village of Kremis, and graduated from the former Fredonia High School in 1941.

Norma began employment in 1957 at the former Sun Drug Co. and Eckard Drug Store in Hermitage. She was the store manager for 20 years before retiring in 1987.

Her husband, Chester "Ike" Flickinger, whom she married September 3, 1941, passed away February 8, 1993.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Flickinger and his wife Martha, of South Pymatuning Twp., Charles Flickinger, of Hermitage, and Dennis Flickinger and his wife Kathy, of Shenango Twp.; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren;and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Simons; and two brothers, LeRoy and Ken Willaman.

Calling hour will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday (04/16/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.


Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Tjader, officiating.

Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
