Norma Belgie, 758 Oak St., New Bedford, and formerly of Hopewell Township, passed away peacefully at 2:10 p.m. Jan. 30. 2015, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 80. Mrs. Belgie was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Wireton, Pa. She was a daughter of Nathan P. and Iris Biggerstaff Anderson. She is a 1952 graduate of Ambridge High School, Ambridge. A homemaker, she and her husband also owned and operated the former Weber Electric in Ambridge for 20 years. She is a member of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church in New Bedford. She is survived by her husband, Alfred E. Belgie, whom she married Sept. 25, 1954. Also surviving are two daughters, Cindy Lynn Petroski of Stafford, Va., and Lori Lynn Belgie, Erie; a sister, Arlene Manolovich of Monaca; one granddaughter, Ashley North of Fredericksburg, Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Addison, Lorilei, and Trenton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heidi Grace. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday in New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Douglas Runyan, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Dr., Pulaski, Pa. 16143.
