Norene E. Exposito, 86, of Edinburg passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in New Castle on Nov. 21, 1929, a daughter of the late Frederick D. and Thelma N. Taylor Coates.
Norene graduated valedictorian of her class in 1947 from Union High School, New Castle.
Her husband, Jesse J. Exposito, whom she married June 2, 1949, survives her at home.
Norene was a loving homemaker to her husband and daughters.
For many years, she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, as well as the church organist and pianist. She enjoyed cross-stitching and knitting. Norene was an exceptional seamstress.
She is survived by her three daughters, Thelma Patrick and her husband, Jody, of Columbus, Marilyn Lamm of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Peggy Szewczyk of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Vivian Hager of Florence, Ore.; a brother, Frederick Coates of Williamsburg, Va.; a sister-in-law, Mary Logan of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Mark, Daniel and Hilary Patrick, Fred and Lisa Lamm, Jessica Richardson and Kristen Szewczyk; and eight great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlyn Patrick, Jordan, Ian and Kennedy Lamm; and Evan, Reid and Alex Joseph Patrick; and a nephew, Rodys Exposito and his wife, Helen Exposito, of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. B.J. Rudge officiating.
Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens
