Nora B. Markell of 2118 Trace St., Hermitage, PA. passed away at 11:17 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Sharon Regional Health System. She was 71.
Mrs. Markell was born in Indiana County, PA on March 2, 1937, a daughter of William and Mary Corrigan Wulfert.
After being a homemaker for many years, Nora went back to work for Countryside Convalescent Home as a nurses aid. She retired after 21 years of employment.
She loved to crochet and enjoyed baking. Most of all she was a loving wife and mother, and enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and was very giving towards others.
Survivors include: her husband of 53 years of marriage, Espy Markell, whom she married January 27, 1956; a daughter, Cynthia and her husband Daniel Elford of Hermitage, PA; a son, William E. Markell and his companion Karen Tedder of Landolakes, FL; a sister, Isa and her husband Louis Drescher of Bedford, TX; a brother, William Wulfert of St. Pete, FL; 6 grandchildren, Brooke Brocious, Melissa Currie, Daniel Markell, Joey Markell, Billie Markell, and Mark Lavoie;13 great grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Robert Wulfert.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Chisholm of the Neshannock Alliance Church in West Middlesex
