Obituary

Nikodemus "Nick" Fuchs Jr. Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday (12-9-15) at his residence following a brief illness. He was 83.

He was born April 22, 1932 in Simonsfield, (Ukraine) the son of Nikodemus Fuchs Sr. and Alma Selcho Fuchs.

A steelworker, he worked for the former Sharon Steel Corporations Farrell plant and he was also a self employed carpenter for many years.He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon.

Nick, as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, was a member and Past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus Sharon Council 684. He also belonged to he 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus, Sharon Assembly.

He was a familiar face for many years at the Apollo Maennerchor Club in Sharon where he enjoyed singing as part of their choir and where he was a past officer of the club.He leaves his two daughters, Mary Kay Fuchs, and Tammy Lee Fuchs, both of Sharon, his two sons, John Fuchs and his wife Mary Jo, Butler, and Anthony Fuchs, also of Sharon, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, two sisters, Marie Bianco, Brookfield, Oh, and Vallentina Cunningham, Houston, TX, and his brother Peter Fuchs and his wife Barbra, Hermitage.

He also leaves two step sons, Manfred J. Fischer, AZ, and Peter J. Fischer, NY.

He is also survived by his former wife Katharina Petrovich of Sharon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Edward Fuchs, and his companion of 20 years Elizabeth Fischer.

His family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in his memory to please consider one of the following; Apollo Maennerchor Club 391 Dock St.Sharon, Pa. 16146, or the Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 2320 Highland Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hours and services: In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or visitation.

A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the convenience of his family.

Internment: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
