Nick Mehelic, 83, of Union Twp. passed away Monday afternoon, June 9, 2025, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.
Mr. Mehelic was born January 9, 1942, in Sharon, PA, a son of the late Nick and Mary (Stulich) Mehelic, and attended West Middlesex High School.
In 2007, Nick retired as a millwright from Wheatland Tube, following 43 years of employment.
Nick was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle – St. Mary's Church.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, and cheer for his favorite team, the Cleveland Browns. Most importantly, Nick was a family man who cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
His beloved wife of 39 years, Angela M (Petrello) Mehelic, whom he married April 5, 1986, survives at home.
Nick is also survived by a son, Nicholas Mehelic (Ann), of Hudson, OH; a daughter, Andrea Radar (Joe), of Virginia; a stepson, Jeffrey Panella (Wendy), of Union Twp.; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by a brother, Mike "Red" Mehelic; a sister, Ann Sarvas; and a stepson, Michael Panella, III.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (6-12-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday (6-13-25) in Holy Spirit Parish – St. Mary's Church, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle, with Rev. Ben Barr, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Madonna Cemetery, Union Twp.
