A funeral mass will be Wednesday for Nicholas "Nick" Rosati, a 15-year resident of Hermitage and formerly of Farrell, who passed away at 8:10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, with his loving children by his side. He was 86.
Mr. Rosati was born July 3, 1929, in Farrell, a son of Anthony and Anna (Ferrante) Rosati.
He was a 1948 graduate of Farrell High School and proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
His wife of 57 years and love of his life, the former Olga C. Isla, whom he married June 16, 1956, in St. Benedict's Church, Canton, Ohio, passed away April 25, 2014.
Nick retired as a foreman in 1993 from Sawhill Tubular Products, where he was employed for 40 years.
He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell. He was also a member of the VFW Post 5286, and the Italian Home, both Farrell.
Nick, fondly known by his family as "Welo," was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, loved traveling with his friends and family and enjoyed going to Mountaineer Park Race Track.
Surviving are four children, Diana Iacino and her husband Joseph, North Canton, Ohio; Robert Rosati and his wife Roni, and Cynthia Reynolds and her husband David, all of Hermitage; and Mark Rosati and his wife Lori, Burlington, Ky.; a brother, Louis Rosati and his wife Sandra, Farrell; and a brother-in-law, Anthony Conti, Hermitage. He also leaves nine grandchildren, Jena (Iacino) Grosschmidt and her husband Ryan, North Canton, Ohio; Joseph "JP" Iacino and his fianee Amanda Morgan and her son Carson, Canton, Ohio; Ryan Rosati and his fiancee Courtney Savchuk, Charlotte, N.C.; Richmond Rosati, Arlington, Va.; Ross Rosati, Hermitage; Cole and Alayna Reynolds, Hermitage; and Madilynn and Nickolette "Nicky" (his namesake) Rosati, Burlington, Ky.; and a great-granddaughter, Mia Nicole Grosschmidt, North Canton, Ohio.
Besides his wife and parents, Nick was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Conti.
Nick's children would like to thank his family of caregivers - Kim, Margo, Tina, Mary and Elaine - for their love and dedication throughout the years.
They would also like to recognize the outstanding nursing care their dad received during his brief stay at UPMC Horizon, Farrell.
Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (5-31-15) in J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Service: Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (6-1-16) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant. A prayer service will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home before processioning to the church.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage, with military honors rendered by the West Middlesex VFW, Wheatland American Legion and the Farrell VFW Honor Guard.
