Nicholas A. Faella

Nicholas A. Faella, 73, of New Castle, formerly of Denver, CO, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Nick was born November 9, 1952, in New Castle, a son of the late Henry and Helen (Wylie) Faella. A 1970 graduate of New Castle High School, he later earned his nursing license while living in Denver, Co.

For many years, Nick worked as a nurse in various capacities and specialized in respiratory care.

He enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and always looked forward to sitting down for a good movie or record.

Nick is survived by his daughter, Melissa Maxwell (David), of New Castle; four grandchildren, Gary Yanul, of Pittsburgh, PA, Taylor Yanul, of New Castle, PA, Raquel Lynch (Joseph), of Destin, FL, and Reagan Maxwell, of New Castle, PA; and a brother, Fred Thompson (Tonia), of Bedford, TX.

In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles who absolutely adored him.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Internment will be in Harrisville Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville, PA.
