Natalie (Kushay) Magula, 96, of Hermitage passed away with her daughters by her side Wednesday afternoon, February 21, 2024.
Mrs. Magula was born February 1, 1928, in McKees Rocks, PA, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Swolaya) Kushay. She was a 1946 graduate of Sharon High School and later completed secretarial studies at a local business school.
A homemaker, Natalie also worked as an administrative assistant for several companies in the Shenango Valley.
Natalie was a lifelong member of St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sharon, where she volunteered throughout her life, especially in the kitchen during the pierogi drives.
She was active in the Mercer County General Federation of Women's Clubs on the local and state level.
An avid golfer, Natalie could be found playing with family and friends well into her 90's. Her Bridge Club was an important part of her social life and was passionately competitive while playing. Natalie had an affinity for traveling, both domestically and internationally, and passed this love on to her children and grandchildren.
Her loving husband of 58 years, Michael Magula, whom she married May 23, 1953, preceded her in death August 25, 2011.
Natalie is survived by three daughters, MaryBeth Alvin (Ken Kelly), Glen Mills, PA, Melissa Crimmins, Pittsburgh, PA, and Melanie Werner (Michael Costanzo), North Palm Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Austin Alvin (Ashleigh) and Travis Alvin, Meredith Crimmins Hoffman (Michael), Margaret Crimmins, and Marjorie Crimmins, and Isabelle Werner and Sophia Werner; former son-in-law, Eric Werner, a beloved God Daughter, Pat Will; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Natalie was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and William Kushay; an infant daughter, Michelle Magula; and her son-in-law, Martin Crimmins.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 389 Clark St., Sharon, PA 16146.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday (2-26-24) in St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with Rev. Steve Repa, officiating.
Interment: St. John's Ukrainian section of Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
