Obituary

Nancy Radachy of Masury entered eternal peace, while being supported by the love of her family, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 after a brief illness. She was 61. Mrs. Radachy was born July 5, 1954 to Alexander Jancso and Agnes Skladanek Jancso. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the Brookfield area. She was a 1972 graduate of Brookfield High School and a 1974 graduate of New Castle Business College. After graduation, she worked at Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a medical transcriber until becoming a wonderful stay-at-home mother to her daughter. She later worked at the office of the late Dr. Dale Pokorney as a medical transcriber. Nancy brought the love of Christ to all who met her, most recently to the parishioners of St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Adalbert as their parish secretary. In addition, she facilitated the religious education program at St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity parish from 2001 to 2014. In this role and previously as a religious education catechist at both St. Stanislaus Kostka-Holy Trinity and at St. Bernadette's parishes, she encouraged her students to make their faith part of their daily lives. She was a compelling role model for those in the religious education program, leading by example. She found attending daily Mass the perfect start to her day. In addition to assisting with the church's youth group meetings, she also served as a chaperone for several Catholic Heart Workcamp trips and youth retreats. She also served as a lector and an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist and, over the years, as a member of Ladies of Charity, Parish Council, Social Committee, Liturgy Committee, and Trinitarians. In addition, she facilitated adult religious education courses, leading group discussions about how to live out the Catholic faith. While Nancy enjoyed working with adults, she had a special spot in her heart reserved for children and freely gave her time and talents to make their lives better. As a child, she regularly read to her younger brother, and as an adult, she volunteered at Notre Dame School's cafeteria and worked as a substitute secretary at Brookfield Local Schools. In 1996, she also welcomed a foreign exchange student, Ginny Peniche, into her home. Throughout her lifetime, she sponsored several children from third world countries, the current one being Maria from Guatemala. During the past school year, Nancy volunteered at West Hill Ministries and found creative ways to help elementary school students with their homework. Nancy deeply enjoyed spending time with her family who will dearly miss her. She leaves behind Patrick Radachy, her beloved husband of 37 years. She also leaves behind a daughter, Julie Radachy, with whom she shared an exceptionally strong mother-daughter bond that allowed the two of them to be best friends for the duration of her life. In addition, Nancy enjoyed spending time with her pets and loved all of themher current cats, Suka, Coco, and Pixie; dogs, Nickey, Newton, and Lucy; and canaries, Francis and Bogeyas family members. She also leaves behind her father, Alexander Jancso; a brother, Ronald Jancso; and a sister, Janet Jancso. She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Jancso. The family would like to thank the staff of Sharon Regional Health System and Cleveland Clinic for their care and assistance. Calling hours: 3 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday (8-30-15) in the J.
