Obituary

Nancy L. Noir, 76, of Niles, OH, formerly of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 9, 2019, in her home.

Mrs. Noir was born October 24, 1942, in Greenville, a daughter of Norman and Helen (Webber) Lamont. She was a 1960 graduate of Hickory High School.

Nancy was employed at various locations by the US Postal Service and retired with more than 20 years of service. Previously, she was employed by Penn Power, Clark, and the former W.T. Grant and Sears department store, both in the Shenango Valley Mall. Following her retirement, Nancy worked as a switch board operator at Thiel College, Greenville.

Nancy was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage; and formerly a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville.

She volunteered for Mercer County Habitat for Humanity.

Throughout the years, Nancy bowled in leagues in Greenville and the Shenango Valley. She loved traveling, particularly to visit family, Las Vegas and the many trips to Ireland with her husband.

Her husband, Robert J. Noir, whom she married June 22, 1963, passed away April 19, 2016.

She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Locke, of Raleigh, NC, Ellen Hott and her husband Ken, of Mooresville, NC, and Katie Taylor and her husband Brad, of Reno, NV; two sons, Martin Noir, of West Middlesex, and Matt Noir and his fiancé Sandrine Borrelli, of Mars, PA; ten grandchildren, John, Sarah and Thomas Locke, Megan and Lauren Hott, Adam, Zane and Max Taylor, and Robert and Ryan Noir; two sisters, Catherine Lamont, of Clark, and Mary Faye Templeton and her husband Chuck, of Mercer; and two brothers, Charles Lamont and his wife Kathy, of Farrell, and John "Bernie" Lamont, of Sharpsville.

In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Clark; and two infant brothers, Edward and Robert Lamont.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (02/15/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday (02/16/2019) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with the Very Rev. Richard J. Allen, E.V., pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
