Nancy L. Hug of Masury, Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 20, 2018, in her home. She was 78 .
Mrs. Hug was born May 2, 1940, in Sharon, a daughter of Harold A. and Helen I. (Airwyke) Trump. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Brookfield High School.
Nancy was a district manag
er
at Beeline Fashions
for many years
where she was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations. She then worked for Sharon Regional Home Health and later as an elderly care taker.
During her children's youth, she was a PTA president in the
Brookfield School District and
a
Girl Scout troop leader for
Penn
Lake Council
.
Nancy was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sharon, where she served as a Deacon and Sunday
school
teacher.
She loved her
children,
grandchildren, her dogs, baking and the holidays.
Nancy also enjoyed tending to her home and flowers and was recognized in 2009 for the best landscape.
Surviving are: her husband, Robert W. Hug, whom she married March 11, 1983; a son, John V. Kettler, Jr., of Masury; four daughters, Thresa A. McFarland (Ralph), of Masury; Pamela I. VanHoose Dodson, of Columbus, OH; Nancy L. Worona (Myron), of Hermitage; and Judy L. Bal luch (George), of Masury ; her former husband, John V. Kettler, Sr., of Ma sury ; fourteen grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four sisters, Connie Nelson and Linda Derr, both of Masury; Irene Barger, of Sharon; and Barbara Monroe, of Niles, OH; and a brother, John Trump, of Austintown, OH.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Michelle Worona; and two sisters, Beverl e y Sederland and Tonya K. McVay .
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ann Ray of MVI Hospice for her exceptional care and kindness over the past three years.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (9-24-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon; and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday (9-25-18) in First Presbyterian Church, 600 E State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. Glenn Hink, senior pastor, officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
