Nancy J. Costar, 1026 Christy Road, Hermitage, Pa. passed away peacefully at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday (10-15-09) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 64.
She was born on March 3, 1945 in Ten Mile, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clifton and Evelyn Tharp Rice.
Nancy graduated from Trinity High School, Washington Pa.
She worked for a number of years at the former Cheena's Beauty Academy, Sharpsville, and for two women's apparel stores, Gantos in the Eastwood Mall, and most recently at Talbots, Boardman, Ohio.
She was a former member of the Shenango Valley Business Women's Association.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be remembered for her love of family, her love for shopping, and her unwavering faith throughout her life, especially during her illness.
Her husband, Peter A. Costar, whom she married on September 24, 1982, survives at home.
She also leaves her daughter, Tammy S. Haun, Sharon, a granddaughter Shana M. DuTosto, Sharon; a sister Debra S. Knox and her husband Frank, Claysville, Pa., and her brother, Richard E. Rice and his wife Lynn, Boardman, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant son, Richard W. Reeves.
Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday (10-18-09) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home Inc., where a wake service will take place at 7:00 p.m.
