Obituary

Nancy Cortese, 3830 Tiffany Lane, Hermitage, PA passed away at 6:15 a.m., Saturday (2-5-11) at her residence following an extended illness. She was 72.

Nancy was born September 3, 1938 in Campofelice, Italy, the daughter Richard and Mary Catanese Cortese.

She attended schools in Italy and Beaver and graduated from Beaver High School in 1956. She also attended Duffs Business School, Pittsburgh.

She was the executive bookkeeper for the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 23 for 40 years, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon and was a member of its Women's Guild. She enjoyed cooking.

She is survived by her sister with whom she lived, Louise M. Aquino and her husband, Joseph, Hermitage; two nieces, Kim Ellis and her husband Scott, Transfer, PA and Kelly Heinze and her husband Peter, Maplewood, NJ, and six great nieces and nephews, Marie and Maggie Ellis, and Zachary, Caleb, Amelia and Simone Heinze.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contribution be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146

Calling hours: 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the gathering space of St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave. Sharon.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday (2-8-11) in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor as the celebrant.
