Nancy L. Cerroni, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully at
9:25 p.m.
Saturday
(2-13-16) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, with her daughter at her side.
She was 88.
Mrs. Cerroni was born October 13, 1927, in Sharon, a daughter of Matthew and Louise E. Palumbo Rogers.
She attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School, Sharon, and Hickory High School.
Nancy's first job was at the former Tastee Bakery in Sharon.
She then worked at Bell Telephone where she met Walter Cheplick, whom she married in 1948.
Nancy worked for 25 years at Packard Electric, Warren, Ohio as an inspector and retired in 1982 from the former General American Transportation Corp. (GATX), Masury.
She was an active member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, where she worked on many projects, including the annual fish fry, and was a money counter.
She previously was a longtime active member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
Nancy was a volunteer for the Mental Health of Sharon and the election boards of Sharpsville and Hermitage.
She was a former member of the Quota Club of Sharon and the Women's Club of Sharpsville.
Nancy loved cooking, planting her flowers; polka dancing and decorating her home.
She enjoyed the company of family and friends and was a friend to all who knew her.
She loved life.
Nancy married Philip Cerroni in July of 1969 in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
He passed away in August of 1977.
Surviving is a daughter, Louise Cheplick Panin and her husband Dr. David E. Panin, Hermitage; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Besides her husband, Philip, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and a brother.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
