Misty Mondok Myers of Sharon passed away peacefully early Saturday morning (10-3-15) in her home, after a bout with cancer. She was 46. Misty was born April 24, 1969, in Sharon, the only child of Gerald and Pauline (Fredrickson) Mondok. A 1987 graduate of Sharon High School, she attended Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, and the former Median School of Allied Health Careers, Pittsburgh, where she became a Certified Vet Tech. Misty was employed as a Head Vet Tech for 28 years at various Veterinarian clinics, most of which were in Ohio. A well known professional dog handler with the American Kennel Club (AKC), Misty showed dogs at many different venues in the United States, including the Westminster show in the Madison Square Garden, New York, NY. She was a member of the AKC, Trumbull County All Breed Club, English Setter Club of Ohio, Greater Pittsburgh English Setter Club, English Setter Association of America, New Castle Kennel Club and the St. Bernard Club of America. She was named the English Setter Association Junior Handler of the year in 1985. Besides her love for animals, Misty and her husband enjoyed making craft beer and riding their Harley Davidson. Surviving are: her husband, Shane Myers, whom she married May 10, 2014; her parents, Jerry and Paula Mondok, Sharon; her four legged "children," Bella and Blake, both English Setters; Faith, a Toy Fox Terrier; Magnum and Porter, both St. Bernard's; and Carl, the cat. She also leaves her father-in-law, John Myers, Jr.; her husband's grandmother, Alice Myers; and a dear friend, Megan Anderson. Misty was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Kate Fredrickson; and Gerald and Hilda Mondok. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Take The Lead, P.O.
