Minnie Shearer, 89, of Sharon passed away Saturday morning, October 27, 2018, in Saint John XXIII Home, Hermitage.

Mrs. Shearer was born January 17, 1929, in Greenville, a daughter of Alvin and Sarah (Price) Lowers and attended Penn High School, Greenville.

A homemaker, Minnie put her family first. She always looked forward to family gatherings and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Minnie was a member of New Life Baptist Church, New Wilmington, where she was involved in many meeting groups, especially the "Celebrate Recovery" program.

Her husband, Norman "Baldy" Shearer, whom she married on October 5, 1946, passed away September 13, 2001.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Gollner and her husband David; two sons, Robert Shearer and his wife Donna, all of Hermitage; and Larry Shearer, Sharon; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Shearer, Greenville; ten grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Shearer; and three brothers, Oliver, Allen and Eugene Lowers.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to World Help, PO Box 551, Forest, VA 24551.

Calling hour will be 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Friday (11/2/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Ron Nagel, officiating.

Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
