Minerva M. Rosian, 88, formerly of Sharon, Farrell and Hermitage, passed away under hospice care at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in Quality Life Services (Countryside Convalescent Home), Mercer.
Mrs. Rosian was born November 14, 1929, in Sharon, a daughter of Mike and Sophie (Maier) Blotor.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1947 graduate of Sharon High School.
Years earlier, she was employed at the former Golden Dawn Foods, in Downtown Sharon; and as an office worker at Sharon Steel Corp.
Minerva was a lifelong active member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church, Hermitage, and its Ladies Aide.
She loved the Lord and her church with all of her heart and soul.
For many years she decorated the church with fresh flowers on holidays and special occasions.
She was known as the "Pumpkin Roll Lady" selling hundreds of rolls each fall for the Ladies Aide project.
Minerva never met a stranger, making friends with everyone along her way.
She loved working in her garden and always had beautiful flowers around the house.
She was also known as the "myrtle" lady, sharing her talent and green thumb with so many friends to make their yards beautiful.
Minerva had a heart of gold, always giving and caring for others.
She took care of many elderly people and loved them as a home health caregiver.
Surviving are: a son, Robert Rosian and his wife Lynda, of Hermitage; two step-granddaughters, Alyssa Waliga Stewart and her husband Nathan and their children, Lyric and Caleb Stewart, all of Helensburgh, NSW, Australia; and Anna Waliga and her daughter Aria Allen, both of West Middlesex; two brothers-in-law, Will Cole, of Sharpsville; and David Trombitas, of Farrell; and special lifelong friends, Eddie and Norma Patrick, of Hermitage.
Minerva was preceded in death by her parents; and seven siblings, Sophie Orashan, Ann Gerwing, Pearl Petcu, Leo Serban, Mary Cole, Rae Trombitas and George Serban, who died in infancy.
Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, in Holy Cross Orthodox Church, 950 Maple Dr., Hermitage.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, in the church, with Very Rev. Fr. George J. Treff, pastor, officiating.
Interment: St. John Cemetery, Hermitage.
