Millie Scarmack Nigro of 25 Besco Drive, Shenango Township, formerly of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday (2-24-10) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after an extended illness. She was 79.
Mrs. Nigro was born June 5, 1930, in Farrell, the daughter of Patsy and Bertha Kohut Scarmack. In her early years, she worked at the former Sotus Grille in Sharon as a waitress and retired in 1953.
A homemaker, Millie was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family.
Her husband, Aneillo 'Bill' Nigro, whom she married on Aug. 1, 1953, passed away on Oct. 27, 1995.
She leaves: her daughter, Barbara R. Wilson and her husband Kenneth, West Middlesex; her son, William M. Nigro and his wife Lynn, Hermitage; a brother, Nicholas Scarmack and his wife Mary, Farrell; five grandchildren, Tim, Genia, Laura and her husband Shawn, Courtney and Mike; three great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn, and twins, Alyssa and Alexis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Millie was preceded in death by her parents.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (2-27-10) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
A brief prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. prior to leaving for the church.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
