Michael Bernard Patrick Fiscus, Grove City, formerly of Farrell and Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 6:12 p.m. Saturday (6-18-11) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 79.
Michael was born on November 7, 1931 in New Kensington, Pa., the son of Walter J. and Elsie Ransel Fiscus.
He graduated from the Farrell High School in 1949.
Mr. Fiscus retired with 30 years of service from Delphi Packard Electric Systems, Warren Ohio. He had also worked for the United States Postal Service in Farrell.A decorated war veteran, he served with the United States Army during the Korean War and he was honorably discharged on November 24, 1954 with the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Farrell Post 5286 where he served as a Sr. Vice Commander and was active with his post's military honor guard.
He was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City, and he formerly belonged to the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell.
His wife the former Mary A. Santell whom he married on April 28, 1951, survives at home.
In addition to his wife he leaves his two sons, John P. Fiscus and his wife Mary G. of Sharpsville, and Duane M. Fiscus and his wife Jennifer H., of Buffalo, New York, a brother Leo W. Fiscus, Hermitage, his four grandsons, Nathan Fiscus, Jon Fiscus, Connor Brandt, and Maurice List, two granddaughters, Heather and Autumn Fiscus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Francis W. and Adrian C. Fiscus.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday (6-23-11) in Church of the Notre Dame 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Edward J. Zeitler, Senior Associate of the Church as celebrant.
Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors provided by the Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286 Farrell, and 6233, West Middlesex, and the American Legion Post 432, Wheatland.
