Michael James Latsko, 77, formerly of Sharon, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Latsko was born on May 10, 1947, in Sharon, a son of the late Albert L. and Marie (Rumancik) Latsko. He was a 1965 graduate of Sharon High School and earned his bachelor's degree in psychology in the Pre-Med program of Georgetown University. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War as a medical lab technician.

Following his discharge, he worked as a medical lab tech at the former Farrell Osteopathic Hospital and later in the same capacity at a hospital in Bowling Green, OH. Michael then enrolled in the Chicago College of Chiropractic Medicine and worked as a security guard while in school. He then returned to the Shenango Valley, where he was employed by the Prince of Peace, Farrell and then the Grape Vine Center, Sharpsville.
A movie buff, he took great interest in spaghetti westerns and monster films. He looked forward to attending the annual Monster Bash, where he got to meet many actors and actresses along with their families.

In his younger years, Michael enjoyed swimming and later cherished a good cigar and smoking his pipe. He also liked to visit with friends and go out to eat.

He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Latsko, of Sharon; and many cousins.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either the American Heart Association, at www.Heart.org; ASPCA, at www.ASPCA.org; or an animal shelter of the donor's choice.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (03/31/2025) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (04/01/2025) in St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with Rev. James Power, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Ann's Cemetery, Hermitage.
