Michael J. Kruck, 72, of Hermitage, formerly of Charleston, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Mr. Kruck was born on September 17, 1953, in Sharon, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Kruck. He was a graduate of Mercer High School, class of 1972, and was active with his class reunion committee.

He began his career working at National Castings and Sharon Steel’s former Farrell plant. Michael was later employed as a truck driver for Falcon Trucking and on the railcar at Caparo Steel.

Michael had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting and spending time in the woods. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was also a member of the Apollo Maennerchor Club in Sharon, where he was the doorman and was affectionately known as “Doorman Mike.”

He loved spending time with his family and always kept in touch. He looked forward to taking his dog for a “walk” with his electric scooter.

He is survived by two sisters, Geraldine M. Eckert and her partner, John Liscio, of Sharon, and Helen L. Kapusta and her husband, Jim, of Hermitage; four special nephews, Matthew Kapusta (Melissa), Michael Kapusta (Kayla), Jeff Kruck (Patty), and Ed Swartz; and four special nieces, Patti Jo DePreta (Joel), Karen Yanak (Rich), Kathy McNeeledge (Rick), and Tina Babcock (Alan).

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Maykowski; a brother, Joseph C. Kruck; and another special nephew, Brian Zuccaro.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Apollo Maennerchor Club, 391 S. Dock St., Sharon, PA 16146; the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or the American Diabetes Association, at American Diabetes Association

Calling hours will be 11 am to 1 p.m. on Monday (05/11/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon. 

Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. on Monday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Kelley Schanely, officiating.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
