Michael E. Krivosh of Brookfield, formerly of Sharon, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday (1-19-16) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 94.
Michael was born in Sharon on Dec. 28, 1921, a son of Paul and Sophia Daniels Krivosh.
He was a 1939 graduate of Sharon High School.
He was one of the Greatest Generation and a decorated veteran of World War II. Michael served with the Marine Corps in the Philippines and was honorably discharged Sept. 29, 1945, with several medals and commendations.
He belonged to Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon, where his father was a charter member and instrumental in the founding of the church.
He began working as a policeman for the City of Sharon in 1952 and reached the rank of police chief in 1975. He later worked for Mercer County in domestic relations and retired in 1988.
He was the oldest living member of Sharon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1338 and also worked as bar manager for the post during his retirement.
His wife, the former Rozanne Kebaugh Krivosh, who he married July 6, 1945, passed away on March 22, 1989.
He is survived by his daughter, Patti Krivosh, Brookfield, and her boyfriend Michael DiPreta; his son-in-law, Otis Kelley, Remington, Va.; his grandchildren, Danielle Cheza, Erie; Corey Cheza, Pittsburgh; Chelsea (Tim) Moore, Boston, Va.; and Jared Kelley, Richmond, Va., Gabriel Krivosh and his wife Ashley; and Andrew Krivosh, all Pittsburgh; his great-grandchildren, Grace Krivosh and Marshall Moore; and his longtime companion, Ivette (Renee) Marcus, Sharon, and her daughter, Kelly Harper and her husband (Dan); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael P. Krivosh; his daughter, Rozanne Kelley; five brothers, Cyril, John, Paul, Andrew and an infant, Michael; and his sisters, Sophie Steines Guarnieri, Mary Ondreyka and Mildred Kebrdle.
